My Journey

I was searching for help, I was exhausted, moody with extremely heavy periods.

I went to my annual physical. I explained to the doctor that I was experiencing symptoms like, increased mood swings, PMS, migraines, heavy bleeding, extreme fatigue and shorter cycles. 

“Was this perimenopause?” I asked. 
“Nope, you are too young for perimenopause.”

I was 44. 

Today, I know that the doctor was misinformed. Symptoms can start as early as 35!

Instead of addressing my concerns, the doctor pointed out that I had gained 10 pounds during pandemic stay at home orders. #weightstigma happens even in a thin body! 

Turns out I had three uterine fibroids that were causing my heavy bleeding and as a result I was iron deficient and anemic (My Ferritin was 3! #IYKYK). 

This started my relentless search for help and support with perimenopause. 

I eventually found medical help and relief with a Uterine Fibroid Embolization and iron infusion that brought me back to life. 

While my perimenopause experience was fast tracked because of my fibroids, this is when I became so passionate about midlife health and well being. 

I hear of so many women going to their doctors looking for support, a listening ear and gentle understanding of this normal hormonal transition. While there are some amazing specialists out there, most doctors, even OB/ GYNs, have limited education on menopause and are operating in a broken health care system. 

We deserve more than this. This is WHY I became a perimenopause coach. 

No woman should have to suffer like I did. 

You deserve to be heard and understood as you navigate perimenopause.

Professional Bio

Kate Williams Stone (she/her) is a non diet health and life coach who specializes in helping women in perimenopause build confidence around their relationship with food and body so that they can feel amazing without the diet culture BS.

She uses the principles of Intuitive Eating coupled with hormone honoring health habits as a powerful way to support women through the challenges of perimenopause. Her signature framework includes: Peaceful Eating practices, cyclical living, normalizing body changes with feminist non diet mindset coaching. 

Kate has non diet professional coaching certifications in intuitive eating, body image, weight neutral health coaching (HAES) from the non diet certification program with Stephanie Dodier (Going Beyond the Food Method™).  In addition, she is also certified in Cognitive Behavioral Coaching (CBC) with a trauma informed and feminist perspective. Kate is a certified health and life coach from Health Coach Institute, along with additional Intuitive Eating training with Evelyn Tribole (co-creator of Intuitive Eating). 

She is also a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University from the prestigious Drama program (B.F.A).

🥕 Singing show tunes is a major mood booster for me! My favorite musicals: Sound of Music, Hamilton, Spring Awakening and Wicked. 

🥕 In my former career as a professional actress, I did an infomercial for a box set of 80’s music CDs with Rick Springfield! See the photo for proof! 

🥕 I haven’t bought store bought bread in over a year, I bake sourdough ciabatta weekly! 

🥕 I was born in Tunisia, Africa when my parents were in the Peace Corps. 

🥕 I am obsessed with the color purple. I wear it every day.
